A lovely place to walk but beware where you park! Had my car broken into but luckily nothing was stolen, just a smashed windscreen.
Barton Hills is a beautiful walk up, around and down a few hills... ending up in a tiny forest with a small stream flowing through. A beautiful walk during summer, and some breathtaking views when you get to the top. Some benches available en route should you need to take a rest. Really enjoyed ourselves.
Is a beautiful place for walking. Very hilly so once at the top veiws on a good day are beautiful. Lots of different routes so although a few people about here and there it is quite peaceful
Loved it! Great place for a fun muddy family walk! Parking is very limited... street parking just a short walk from Barton Hills. A family could turn this into a whole day out, with a picnic, treasure hunt, hide-n-seek etc... The views are amazing and such a wide area to explore. Brill!
Rare chalk upland and stream at the very Northeastern tip of the Chiltern Hills. Brilliant views West along the escarpment. Includes some ancient Beech woodland and the remains of prehistoric field terracing. During the wet months the lower parts will be very muddy, however the perimeter pathway avoids most of this. Managed by Natural England and maintained by a very dedicated team of local volunteers.
